About PEO/CM Providing Support for the Warfighter The Air Force Program Executive Office for Combat and Mission Support (AFPEO/CM) provides management and oversight for more than 140 combat-support, AF acquisition programs. The values of integrity, services before self and excellence are the driving force behind AFPEO/CM. We must assure the Warfighters receive the best possible support services available. History The Air Force Program Executive Office for Combat and Mission Support was established in Feb 2002. The establishment of the AFPEO was the Air Force's response to the FY02 National Defense Authorization Act regarding services acquisitions. FY02 National Defense Authorization Act had two key requirements in regards to services acquisitions: 1. Develop a management structure for procurement of services comparable to the structure for procurement of products 2. Designate an official to be responsible for management of the procurement of services The AF had to define our approach to the management of the procurement of services to include: - Management structure - Responsibilities of the designated official (DO) - Review thresholds - Advance approval of non performance based contracts This approach was coined the AF's Management and Oversight of the Acquisition of Services Process (MOASP). The AFPEO issued an interim MOASP in Apr 2002. OSD formally approved the MOASP on 07 Feb 2003. Acquisition authority was delegated to the AFPEO for services acquisitions greater than or equal to $100M. In addition, A-76 Cost Comparison Studies affecting over 300 Full Time Equivalent positions were delegated to the AFPEO.
